Touring Lund
On June 11, we traveled to Lund to view several buildings with architectural historian Olle Svedberg as our guide. We visited the work of Klas Anshelm, Bernt Nyberg, and Hans Westman of the Lund School. These architects were contemporaries of Sigurd Lewerentz. In the image, from left: Dan, Michael, Wilfried Wang, Marcy, Olle Svedberg, and Liqiao.
Here is a picture of the entrance to Bernt Nyberg's Institutionen for Anatomi och Histologi at Lunds University, built 1964.
Citadellbadet, Landskrona, Sweden
Because we worked through the weekend at the church, yesterday we gave ourselves the day off. We drove first to Landskrona and then on to Malmo. At Landskrona, we went swimming at this public pool called the Citadellbadet. The building, designed by the Swedish firm Wingårdh Arkitektkontor AB was built in 2007 and surrounds an olympic sized pool and diving platform from 1967.
Here, you can see Michael standing on the top of what I assume is the judge/scoring box. The roof of the building has standing water on it to, I assume, reflect the surroundings.

Main Alter, St. Petri
Here is a picture of the alter in the main sanctuary. The steel column on the left is the primary support for the roof. Note the lights as well. They were designed by Lewerentz, as were most of the features of this church. This picture also begins to describe just how many bricks there are in the building. Almost everything is brick! From the floor to the walls to the alter to the pulpit--all brick. There is a lot of detailed measurement to come....

Measuring and Researching St. Petri Church by Sigurd Lewerentz

This web leg will hopefully consist of postings documenting our research of St. Petri Church by Swedish architect Sigurd Lewerentz. We are a group of six graduate students from the University of Texas School of Architecture under the guidance of Professor Wilfried Wang.
St. Petri is located in Klippan, Sweden in the southwest of the country and was completed in 1966. We are primarily going to be measuring the built dimensions of the church, outside and in, as well and documenting some of the finer details of the building.
